Law Quad
These pictures are taken at the University of Michigan law quad. I chose to take my pictures here because I like the older architecture style and the texture of the rough bricks. For each picture, I wanted to show a different perspective of the building, one from far away, one from inside, and one of the inside wall. For the tunnel picture especially, I wanted to replicate the idea of the "light at the end of the tunnel" and so I made sure to edit it so that there was extra contrast between the light and shadows.

Art Museum Statue
These pictures of of the statue next to the University of Michigan Art Museum. The first picture is meant to show the bright colors of the statue and its height. The second is more of an abstraction of shapes contrasting with the plain background of the sky. The third picture, the blueprint, was intended to look like a sketch or a line drawing.

Graffiti Alley
I chose to take my pictures in graffiti alley. I decided to take the pictures from far away to show the contributions of hundreds of people and the beautiful combined product that is so colorful and diverse. For the first picture, I really focused on color. I love the contrast and brightness of the color, and the organic and unorganized nature of it. The second picture emphasizes the contrast between the plain brick walls and the graffiti covered parts. Lastly, the blueprint shows off the textural elements of the alley.

Law Library
To find a unique perspective of the law library, I went inside to take pictures through the skylight. In the first picture, I love the diamond shape that is created by distance, the tilted windows, and the stairwells, and the leading lines they create. In my mind, this image represents nature, with the lush green rugs and plants, the glass representing the sky. The second image is intended to show an interesting perspective. While in a building, most people don't look at the ceiling, so I thought it would make a cool photo. Lastly, I love the way the skylights distort the image of the building above, and making it into a blueprint emphasizes the strong lines in the photo.

Downtown Building
I'm not sure exactly what this building is, but I know it's a government building downtown. The red bricks and interesting windows caught my attention. I really like the low, strange angle of the first photo because it feels almost unsettling. The second image creates an illusion of a narrow canyon, or a skyscraper. The third photo really shows off the texture in the brick and the dimension in the photo.
